NEW SONG! NEW SONG!
Ok we've pretty much had a Ground Zero reincarnation.
We started off sweet with a fun, half-written, punk-rock song. Then we had a massive "break" (actually I thought we had pretty much unofficially disbanded). Then William suddenly got back into it hard. Except he kept borrowing my guitar cos he was so keen on playing electric.
And we kept doing annoying cover songs instead of real stuff.
Then Will got his guitar (& amp) for Christmas:
It kinda looks like that but with different knobs.
Yesterday we FINALLY got our first practice for 2010! It was so awesome! Having two electric guitars was great cos William could do all the chords etc and I could bust out the leads. They sounded sooo awesome! Oh and Nate's drums were pretty good too. We did some cover songs and mucked around then went home for a break.
When we got back we started writing a new song! Man it sounded great! I made up all these awesome leads which I didn't even think I could do! It was almost sounding Hardcore in the opening before we toned it down a bit. We even got Will singing on Dan's mike!
It needs a LOT of polishing work, but we'll save that for after Parachute cos me and Nate are busy with original product Mayday prepping for our Apollo Stage Debut (1.40 Saturday-come see us!).
This is Ground Zero's first original song. We have had Nothing To Fear (a song we never actually wrote...), Broken (only the first 2 verses), and The Serious Song (up to 2nd verse but it wasn't good anyway.)
Here it is:
NOTHING MORE THAN YOU
Words & Music by Jordan and William
V1. At 12:00 the bombshell drops
I try to get away but the words don't stop
In the end we're people like you
It's not like we're anything new
(Chorus) Our fingers bleed but we keep playing
And as the drum beats we keep saying
You look at us like we're all heroes
The Truth is we're at Ground Zero
V2. At 1:00 I'm hit by the aftershock
I keep thinking I'm ok but maybe I'm not
My world keeps spinning and it won't slow down
I need to escape but I don't know how
(Bridge) I've let you down
I'm falling now
I'm sorry for thinking I was better than you
If there's a next time I'll think it through

P.s. In case you're wondering what the song's talking about, here's the explanation. It's about some rockstars who get problems with pride and people acting like their band is better than everyone else. It's basically telling people to stop "idolizing" rockstars like us, cos really we're all human. And we're all sinners. That kind of idolizing just gives people way to much pride issues.
Not that Ground Zero is famous yet anyway. =)
